Jeff Simpson is an environmental scientist and entrepreneur with over 31 years’ experience in the water industry. Jeff founded the Aquatest division in 2012 with a goal to create effective monitoring around the world’s most precious resource – water. Jeff has been a successful businessman launching several businesses focused on innovative solutions to water monitoring challenges. He has worked with the Freshwater Institute, Water Resources Probe, Ducks Unlimited and University of Winnipeg.
Jeff is involved in ongoing research into advanced water monitoring systems for Environment Canada and his passion for water protection has led to the development of many monitoring solutions for complex water, industrial and wastewater conditions. In particular, Jeff is focusing closely on the monitoring of remote mine water conditions to better understand the risks and challenges of those environments – work that led to the development of the AquaHive system.
Jeff is a mentor for North Forge East helping new entrepreneurs in related fields, he is an active member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, as well as the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, Pinawa Chamber of Commerce, and the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce.
